Feedback from group tutorial

Katy - seems well thought out, idea of continuity of 1 style through series of shots, use of contrasting background like derelict wall.
- availability of models - advertise at uni?
- many advertising campaigns - lacoste adverts
- try a variety of locations to see if you want interior or exterior

Alice -
  • good practise for professional field
  • mixture of outdoor and indoor for variety
  • what clothes are yougoing to advertise? do you have to create the product or collect exisiting clothes?
  • problems could be making the photos stand out from other fashion shoots
  • solution experiement with backgrounds and angles, maybe simulate environment
  • design a label?

Gareth -

  • the use of advert style
  • as long as models can get together
  • deciding on costume and lighting
  • costume theme in terms of garments
  • location
  • research advert styles

Group as a whole -

  • use of doorways?
  • text - in the style of.... should it be used?
  • series of a few images for final images
  • d+g adverts. lacose aderts.levi's adverts

Evaluation of feedback

The others seemed to like my propasal and liked the idea of creating a brief fo myself. They suggested the use of text for the end images could be in the style of already successful brands available. I had doubts as to whether to include the text in my final photographs, as to whether i should create the advert or ju the photograph. This is something i am going to have to research further as i am still unsure. Possible problems that may arise are availiability of models, this is something i have looked into and have asked reliable friends to help me. Alice asked me how i would make my photographs stand out from other fashion shots. This is something that i will have to consider and heaving research into what shots are successful and what aren't.
